Backache is cause by inactive lifestyle consisting of primarily sitting, settling in a hazardous working environment and psychological situations that brings emotional stress. It is one of the most common disorder. This condition creates spasm in the muscles and causes backaches. Overweight people with back pains oftentimes strain their back when carrying extra baggage for the back bears the weight of the entire body.

Symptoms
Usually, the pain occurs in the middle or lower part of the back. In some instances, the pain may be felt on both side of the waist and even the hips. During extreme cases of acute pains, the patient may be paralyzed and it is therefore left tied to the bed.

People suffer from cervical and lumbar spondylosis:
A Cervical and Lumbar spondylosis is a degenerative disorder where vertebraes stick together tightly which makes the spine loses it flexibility. 90% of the population suffering from back aches also suffers from this disorder.

Causes
Muscular tension, straining of the joints, poor posture:
Muscle tensions, joint strains, poor posture, and malnutrition resulting from faulty diets and lack of physical exercises are the main causes of back aches.

Kidney or prostate problems, female disorders, influenza:
Chronic illnesses such as influenza, kidney stones, and prostate problems can also lead to backaches.

Sitting for a long time, high heels:
Sitting for a very long time without any physical exertion, unbalance weight-lifting, wearing high heels for women and emotional stress also makes painful muscle cramps.

Home Remedies
Treatment using Garlic:
Garlic is the most important home remedy for back aches. Every morning, during breakfast, use 2 or 3 garlic cloves in your meals. You can also make garlic oil by frying ten cloves of garlic in a 60 ml of oil in a frying pan. Rub you back using this oil to experience great relief from back pains.

Mustard oil, sesame oil, and coconut oil can be use as suitable alternatives. To use these oils as rubefacients, cook them on a slow fire till they become brown. Let it chill before applying it vigorously on one’s back. Leave it for 3 hours. The patient may take a warm bath afterwards. Continue this treatment for at least fifteen days.

Treatment using Lemon:
Make a juice out of 1 lemon and mix it with rock salt. Drink it twice everyday.

Treatment using Chebulic Myroblan:
For a quick relief, Eat a small piece chebulic myroblan fruit in after every meals.

Treatment using Vitamin C:
Take about 2,000 mg of vitamin C everyday to relieve oneself from back pains within two days.

Treatment using Potato:
Make a warm poultice out of raw potatoes and apply it in the lower part of the back, where the lumbar region is. It is used as an ancient home remedy and is therefore, really effective in relieving back pains.

Diet
Salad of raw vegetables, plenty of fruits:
Make a salad consisting of raw vegetables such as tomatoes, carrots, cabbages, cucumbers, radishes, lettuces. Steam or cook lightly two more vegetables, such as cauliflower, cabbage, and spinach. Eat plenty of fruits, except bananas.

Take four meals daily. For breakfast, drink milk and eat some fruits. For lunch, eat steamed vegetables and make chapattis out of whole wheat. For dinner, drink fresh fruit juices along with a bowl of raw salad with brussel sprouts in it.

Avoid fatty, spicy fried foods and processed foods:
Avoid any processed, fried, spicy and fatty foods for they contain very few nutrients needed for a healthy lifestyle. Also, avoid sweets containing sugar and any form of condiments.

Also avoid coffee or tea.

Other Treatments

Quit smoking tobacco or any cigarettes.

Hot fomentation and alternate sponging:
Treat yourself to a hot fomentation, or alternate sponging when applying heat on your back to get immediate relief.

Yogic asanas are also useful:
Practice some forms of Yogic Asanas, particularly bhujangasana, halasana, shavasana, shalabhasana, and uttanpadasana
