Benefits of Lecithin

November 6, 2008 Lecithin 2 Comments

Lecithin is an essential component of cell membranes.  In fact, it defines the very structure of cells.  One of the main lecithin benefits is to maintain the integrity of cell membranes, helping to facilitate the movement of fluids inside and outside the cell.

Phospholipid is a substance which is fatlike and also known as lecithin (Circulatory, Nervous).  If one’s diet is healthy, the liver in our body is responsible for the production of lecithin daily. In the absence of lecithin, an essential building block of cell membranes, the cells in our body will solidify.  Inositol, linoleic, phosphoric acid, B vitamins and choline compose it.  Fats are emulsified by lecithin, even if it is a fatty substance itself.  The circulatory system thereby benefits from lecithin.  Acetylcholine utilises choline in its production.  The capsules of Nature’s Sunshine Lecithin have been sealed air-tight and come from soybeans.  You can be sure of its freshness as there is no addition of any carrier.

There is no question that lecithin benefits our health in many ways.  From the way we digest our foods to the longevity of our hearts, lecithin benefits are some of the most important to keeping us healthy.
