Body Rash
Body rashes or skin rashes are characterized by skin inflammation. There is a noticeable change in color and texture of the affected area, and this may be due to certain irritations, disease or an allergic reaction caused by certain chemicals, food variety, plant leaves, animal furs, insect bites and factors in the environment. Rashes could affect the whole body or target only a specific area. It is usually not contagious, although there are instances where it can be transferred through close body contact. Back rashes are skin eruption found at the upper back of the body.
Symptoms
There is a visible appearance of red itchy or non-itchy bumps on the skin. It may be accompanied by a stinging or burning sensation.
Causes
Skin rashes could occur as a result of a variety of reasons: reaction to cosmetics, perfumes, soaps, detergents or clothing, allergy to dyes, chemicals present in latex and rubber products.
Some causes of back rashes are rashes due to heat, overly dry skin, dermatitis, ichthyosis and measles.
Home Remedies
Use olive oil to relieve the rash by gently applying it in slow, circular motion.
Aloe Vera gel, cod liver oil and Vitamin E oil are also helpful in combating body rash.
Using baking powder on the affected area is another suggestion to deal with body and back rash.
Prepare an oatmeal bath by pouring a cup of raw oatmeal in a tub filled with water. Soak yourself for several minutes for best results.
Soak a cloth in comfrey tea or calcium water and gently rub it in the affected area to provide some relief. Or you wash the affected area with chamomile tea.
Make a poultice out of dandelion, yellow dock root and chaparral to help alleviate skin rash.
Stir in a spoonful of calcium gluconate powder into a cup of water then drink it.
Diet
Eat foods that are rich in Vitamin C. It has antioxidants that help in fighting the appearance of body rashes.
Avoid allergy-causing foods to prevent the onset skin rashes in the whole body or your back.
Suggestions:
Keep the affected area away from direct sunlight and hot water. Expose it to clean and fresh air as much as possible.
Do not rub your skin when there is an onslaught of rashes on your body.
Switch to gentle body wash instead of soap when bathing.
Refrain from applying body lotions or other ointments directly over the rash.
Make sure to use warm, not hot water when cleansing. Pat dry your skin instead of rubbing it.
Discontinue the usage of newly acquired cosmetics if irritation or any form of allergic reactions occurs.
