    Fatigue is characterized by lack of energy and motivation. Fatigue can be response to physical exertion, emotional stress, boredom, or lack of sleep. It can also be a sign of more serious psychological or physical disorder. When enough sleep, good nutrition, or a low-stress environment does not relieve fatigue; it must be the time to consult a doctor since it may be a sign of more complex illness. Depression can also be wrongly identified as fatigue.

    Causes of Fatigue

    Leading causes of Fatigue are:

    Anemia

    It is the leading cause of fatigue especially in women due to heavy menstrual cycles.

    Hypothyroidism

    The most common cause is Hashimoto’s thyroiditis. This type of condition causes the body to destroy the cells that is producing thyroxin and other hormones secreted by the thyroid gland. The result is hypothyroidism, and/or a slow metabolism.

    Urinary Tract Infection (UTI)

    Most women associate a urinary tract infection with symptoms such as burning or urgency; sometimes fatigue is also a clue. UTI is caused by bacteria in the urinary tract this often result of improper bathroom hygiene like wiping back to front. Sexual intercourse can also increase the risk since it can push bacteria from the vagina into the urethra.

    Caffeine over intake

    For some women, coffee or cola can have the opposite effect instead of giving more energy. Cutting out coffee, chocolate, tea, soda and some medications that contains caffeine cause this could bring unexplained fatigue.

    Food Allergies

    Food intolerance can make people feeling sleepy. Eating food that brings allergy could give an affected person the feeling of continuous exhaustion.

    Sleep Apnea

    Not getting enough sleep can be a reason to feel tired. Sleep apnea is a sleep disorder that causes momentarily stop breathing. Each time you stop breathing; you awaken just long enough that can disrupt your sleep.

    Heart Disease

    Becoming exhausted after every activity is one of the possibilities of heart disease.

    Other Causes of Fatigue

    • AIDS
    • Cancer
    • Diabetes
    • Tuberculosis
    • Malnutrition
    • Mononucleosis
    • Persistent pain
    • Addison’s disease
    • Depression or grief
    • Parasitic infections
    • Bacterial endocarditis
    • Use of alcohol or illegal drugs.
    • Anorexia or other eating disorders
    • Autoimmune diseases such as lupus
    • Chronic liver or kidney disease
    • Arthritis, including juvenile rheumatoid arthritis


    Home Remedies Treatment for Fatigue

    Basil leaf:
    Prepare a tea out of basil leaves and drink it regularly.

    Lemon:
    Mix equal parts of grapefruit and lemon juice. Drink 1 glass of these juices.

    Abstain from eating any food aside from sprouts once every 2 weeks.

    Diets Suggestion for Fatigue

    Have a healthy and well-balanced diet consisting mainly of fruits, vegetables, and grains.
    Drink plenty of water
    Minimize consuming white sugar, processed foods that are high in fat and less in carbohydrates, vitamins and minerals.

    Other Suggestions for Fatigue

    Exercise regularly.
    Learn better ways to relax.
    Take a multivitamin/food
    Avoid alcohol, nicotine, and drug use.
    Change your stressful circumstances, if possible
    Maintain a reasonable work and personal schedule.
    Get regular and consistent amounts of sleep each night.
    Eat a healthy well-balanced diet and drink plenty of water.

    1. I have been feeling fatigued for a few days every month. After reading your blog, I think caffeine over intake is the reason. I take almost 10 to 15 cups of tea and coffee every day along with cigarettes. Thank you for the post.

    5. Thank you finally for including an entry about fatigue. You may have been responding to my e-mail. However, your entry really needs much, much more info, as well as more home remedies. Most people know you’re supposed to drink more water, etc. I’d like to see you getting a bit more specific.

    6. I am alway’s very weak and tired I can actually sleep alday I need to know how to get out of this mode it’s almost as if I am sick and cant get over what I have please tell me what to do?
