Psoriatic arthritis is disease (usually chronic) and is noticed from the inflammation of the skin (psoriasis) and joints (arthritis). It is a common skin condition that features patchy, raised, red areas, inflammation with scaling of the skin.

Psoriatic arthritis has many features with several other arthritic conditions, such as:

  • Reactive arthritis (Reiter’s syndrome),
  • Arthritis associated with Crohn’s disease
  • ulcerative colitis

These kind conditions can cause inflammation in the spine and other joints, and the eyes, skin, mouth, and various organs.

Causes of Psoriatic Arthritis

The main cause of psoriatic arthritis is currently unidentified. Combination of genetic, immune as well as environmental factors are most likely involved.
