Chlamydia is one of the common sexually transmitted disease (STD). This kind of disease is caused by Chlamydia trachomatis, a bacterium, which can damage a woman’s capacity to bear child and can result to more complicated sexual health issues.

Symptoms of Chlamydia

Around 85 % for female and 40% for males can be asymptomatic (no symptoms at all)

  • Vaginal discharge
  • Penile discharge
  • Anal discharge
  • Pain during urination
  • Lower abdominal pain
  • Low back pain
  • Nausea
  • Fever
  • Pain during intercourse
  • And/or bleeding between menstrual periods

Causes of Chlamydia

Chlamydia can be transmitted during sexual activities (vaginal, anal, or oral sex). This can also be passed from Chlamydia infected mother to her baby during natural way of childbirth. Men who engaged in sexual activity with an infected partner can also contact Chlamydia.

Natural Treatment / Home Remedies

Chlamydia can result to Pelvic Inflammatory Disease (PID) if untreated so it is advised to seek Professional Medical advice if somebody is suspected of Chlamydia infection.

It is advised that the infected persons’ sexual partner (s) should undergo medical check-up to ensure that the infection be addressed and avoid the recurrence.

Coconut Water:
Drink a glass coconut water at least 2 times a day until the symptoms subsided.

Yogurt: Dip a tampon in a bowl of yogurt. Use it twice a day. Continue treatment for a few more days until the symptoms subsided.

Tea tree oil: Place a few drops of tea tree oil on a tampon before using it.

Garlic: Apply garlic paste directly on affected area. This treatment should be used only for non-vaginal infection.

Eat plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables to ensure a healthy body and lifestyle.

Further Suggestions for Chlamydia

Avoid wearing tight underwear, acrylic garments, jeans, leggings, and panty hose everyday.

Use loose fitting undergarments made of cotton.
Refrain from scented using tampons or sanitary pads if you’re suspecting infection.

Avoid using sprays for it may cause irritation.

Avoid prolonged contact with wet clothes. Dry yourself as soon as possible and before changing into a new set of dry clothes.
