Conjunctivitis
Conjunctivitis refers to an inflammation of the conjunctiva; it is the thin transparent membrane that covers the front of the eye. Sometimes it is wrongfully referred to as “sore eyes†and which spreads from person to person through direct contact.
Symptoms
- Red eyes
- Itchy eyes
- Inflammation of the eyeball
- Eyelashes stick together especially in the morning due to puss formation
Causes
- Eye Strain
- Bacterial and viral infection
- Prolonged exposure to artificial light
- Dirty environment
Treatment
Carrots and Spinach Juice:
Mix 200 ml of freshly made Spinach juice in 300 ml of freshly made carrot juice
Parsley and Carrot Juice:
Mix 200 ml or fresly made raw parsley with 300 ml of freshly made carrot juice
Indian Gooseberry:
Mix 1 cup of Indian gooseberry juice with two teaspoons of honey drink twice daily
Coriander:
Used as eyewash, a decoction of dried coriander in 60 ml of water
Prevention
Eat healthy
Have adequate rest and sleep
Avoid straining the eyes
