Coronary Artery Disease (CAD)
Coronary Artery Disease (CAD) is characterized by chest pains, it is also called angina. The presence discomfort around the chest area due to narrowing of the arteries. Coronary Artery Disease (CAD) can also caused by blocking of arteries, and thickening of heart muscles. More blood supply that passes through narrow arteries causes discomfort and leads to Coronary Artery Disease.
Three types:
Stable angina – chronic stable angina
Unstable angina – can initiate heart attack
Variant angina or Prinzmetal’s angina – rare type caused by spasm of the coronary artery
Symptoms of Coronary Artery Disease
- Pressure
- Tightening
- Squeezing
- Burning sensation
- Pain in the chest area
- Discomfort in the chest area
- Pain in the arms, shoulders, throat, neck, jaw or back regions
- Also appears like indigestion
