Although supplements have always been known to be beneficial, controversies surrounding their uses are making it difficult to decide on their effectiveness.

Known to help in the countering of the effects of old age is minimizing the consumption of the amount of fatty substances and maximizing the intake of fruits and vegetables.
Present in the red and blue pigments of fruits and vegetables is Flavonoids, which also have strong antioxidant properties.
Also highly useful in the elimination of free radicals is Carotenes, especially beta-carotene, which is present in orange and red vegetables. B-vitamins may indirectly aid as a natural anti aging supplement since it helps in combating stress. Deficiency in Folic Acid has indicated a possible increase in the occurrence of Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease. Many organ systems may well be affected by these during the process of aging. Folic acid (in adequate amount) should be taken as a supplement.
