Leucorrhoea, (or “leukorhhoea”), widely known as whites, is a sign of infection characterized by whitish discharge from the vagina or cervical canal. The condition may persist for weeks and may extend for months. Symptoms may elevate to chronic state if not treated properly.

Symptoms for Leucorrhoea

Most notable sign of leucorrhea is a presence of white vaginal discharge accompanied by painful sensations in the lumbar region and calves. The patient will also experience body weakness and fatigue. There is also an intense itching, frequent headaches, and constipation.

Irritability and appearance of black patches under the eyes are common signs for patients suffering from chronic cases of leuccorhea.

Causes of Leucorrhoea

Primarily due to poor hygiene and faulty diet, the body is unable to eliminate the toxins through the skin, lungs, kidney and bowels. As a result, it produces thick, whitish vaginal discharge accompanied by irritation and odor.

It may occur during menstrual cycle for young women due to the thickening of the mucous membrane in the reproductive organs.

For the childbearing years of adolescents to mid-forties, infection may take place following childbirth due to damaged cervix during delivery.
