Palpitation
Palpitation is a condition wherein there is an irregular interval of heartbeats. The person affected is not commonly aware of them experiencing this condition.
Symptoms
Primary symptom for heart palpitations are increasing pulse rate, and strong heart beat that causes discomfort for the patient.
Causes
Overworking the heart function, lying on the left side, and nervous disorders can cause heart palpitations. Although it can occur mainly than other serious heart diseases, anxiety is the major causes of it.
Other factors that contribute to this condition are constipation, full stomach due to overeating, flatulence, and over indulging in smoking.
Home Remedies
Grapes: Drink grape juice several times a day to remedy heart palpitations.
Guava: Eat ripe guava everyday on an empty stomach. It can also relieve anemia and nervous disorder aside from heart palpitation.
Snake gourd: Make a juice extract using snake gourd leaves. Take 1-2 tablespoons thrice daily.
Honey: Mix 1 tablespoon of honey, lemon juice from ½ lemon, and a glass of water. Take before bedtime.
Indian spikenard: Mix 2-3 gm of Indian spikenard mixed with a pinch of camphor and cinnamon. You can also make an infusion and taking 30-60ml of it 3 times a day.
Aniseed: Mix equal quantity of aniseed, dry coriander, and jaggery powder. Take 6 gm of mixed powder after each meal.
Diets
Eat plenty of natural foods such as fresh fruits, and raw or lightly cooked vegetables.
Avoid drinking alcohol, coffee, sodas or tea. At the same time, avoid all foods that contain sugar, food coloring, chemical additives, white rice, condiments, and all white flour products.
Take 3 meals a day. For breakfast, eat fruits, nuts, seeds, and drink milk. For lunch, eat steamed vegetables, whole wheat Indian flatbread, and drink a glass of buttermilk. For dinner, eat fresh green vegetable salad, with alfalfa seeds and munge, cottage cheese, and drink another glass of buttermilk.
Further Suggestions
Relax and meditate. Practice savasanas to achieve the proper rest and relaxation of the body.
Do active exercises such as brisk walking, cycling, and swimming.
