Pneumonia
Pneumonia is an infectious inflammation of the lungs. It is called double pneumonia if both lungs are affected.
Symptoms
It commonly begins with a cold affecting the head and the throat. The patient experiences chill, fever, difficulty in breathing, shivering and sharp pains in the chest. It may be accompanied by cough that produces pink phlegm which then turns into brown.
Young children may suffer from convulsions and deliriums with the temperature rising from 40.6ºC and pulse rate of 150 beats/minute.
Complication leads to pleurisy.
Causes
Streptococcus, staphylococcus, and pneumococcus bacteria are responsible for this disease. Sometimes, certain types of virus also cause pneumonia.
Primary causes points to intoxicated lungs and air passages that is contracted due to faulty diet and lifestyle.
Fungal infections, parasitical infestations, inhaling allergens such as dust or toxic gases are other causes of pneumonia.
Home Remedies
Fenugreek seeds: Drink up to 4 cups of teas made from fenugreek seeds to relieve acute pneumonia. It can help the body perspire, therefore eliminates the toxins from the body and cut short fever. Reduce teas intake after the condition improves. Place a few drops of lemon juice for added sweetener. Refrain from taking any other food to heal the respiratory system within few days.
Garlic: Apply garlic paste on the chest. Its rubefacient and anti-irritant properties lowers down the temperature due to fever, and bring back normal pulse rate and respiration within 48 hours.
Sesame seeds: Soak15 gm of sesame seeds in 250 ml water. Mix with 1 tablespoon linseed, a pinch of common salt, and a desert spoon of honey. It will remove catarrh matter and phlegm that infects the bronchial tubes.
Parsnip: Parsnip juices extracted from the leaves and roots contains phosphorus and chlorine that is extremely therapeutic to the lungs and bronchial system. Take 250 ml of cultivated parsnip juice daily. Refrain from suing raw plants for it contains poisonous elements.
Vegetable juices: Mix 200 ml of spinach juice or 100 each of beet and cucumber juices with 300 ml of carrot juice to make ½ liter of these juices.
Turpentine oil: Rub turpentine oil over the ribs. Wrap a warm cotton cloth afterwards to relieve pneumonic pains.
Diets
Take an exclusive raw juice diet for 5-10 days, depending on the severity of the condition. To do this diet, drink a glass of fruit or vegetable juice diluted in warm water. Repeat every 2-3 hours.
Follow with an exclusive fruit diet for the next 3-4 days consisting of 3 meals a day of succulent fruits.
Eat natural foods such as fresh fruits and raw vegetables afterwards.
Further suggestions
Administer a warm water enema daily while undergoing the juice and fruit diet. Repeat afterwards if necessary.
