Toothache

Toothache occurs when the teeth are sore and inflamed. A stinging pain is felt located in the tooth itself or the surrounding tissues.

Symptoms
A toothache may feel like a sharp pain or a dull throbbing ache. The affected tooth or teeth are very sensitive to pressure, heat, cold, or the presence of sweet or sugar.

Toothaches will get worse if not properly treated, and in some cases, will need to be extracted out.

Causes
Toothache mainly develops due to tooth decay, which is the result of excessive consumption of refined carbohydrates and sugar. It allows the formation of bacteria in mouth that transforms the sugar particles from the food to acids. When combined with calcium in the enamel, a tooth decay or erosion is formed.

Home Remedies
Garlic: Place a clove of garlic mix with little amount of rock salt on the affected tooth, or you can chew a piece of clove in the morning daily. It will not only relieve the pain and cure it, it will also makes the teeth strong and healthy.

Onion: Consume a masticated raw onion everyday. Onion has bactericidal properties that help prevent future tooth disorders. Alternately, chewing raw onion for 3 minutes will kill all the bad bacteria present in the mouth. Place a small piece of onion on the infected tooth or gum to get rid of the pain cause by infection.

Lime: Consume liberal amount of lime or limejuice. It contains vitamin C that is effective in preventing tooth decay, toothache, bleeding gums, and tooth loss. It is can also makes the teeth and other bones in the body strong and healthy.

Wheat grass: Use wheat grass juice as a mouthwash when having tooth decay. It can also remove toothaches. Alternately, you can also chew a piece of wheat grass to get rid of toxins from the gums and prevents future growth of bacteria in that area.

Asafoetida: Pestle a piece of asafetida in lemon juice. Warm it slightly. Soak a cotton swab on this solution and place it on the tooth decay to relieve pain quickly.

Bay berry: Make a paste out of bay berry bark and vinegar. Apply on the affected tooth to relieve toothache and to the gums to strengthen it.

Clove: Apply clove oil to the tooth decay to relieve of toothache. Clove can cure infection for it contains antiseptic properties.

Pepper: Mix a pinch of pepper powder and ¼ teaspoon of common salt. Use as a dentrifice everyday to cure bleeding and painful gums, relieve toothaches and sensitive teeth, and prevent dental cavities and foul breath. Applying a mixture of a pinch of pepper powder and clove oil on the cavities can also alleviate the pain.

Diets
Teeth conditions rely on the food that you eat everyday. Have a healthy diet to prevent dental decay, gum infection, and make the teeth and jawbones harder and healthier. This could be done by eating plenty of whole foods, whole wheat bread, and raw vegetables. Whole foods can remove the plaque.

Avoid sugar and refined foods that are low in fiber. It allows the teeth to accumulate cavities.
Sweet snacks produces acid in the mouth that allows the bacteria to grow. To avoid this, eat sweets after meals to prevent future formation of tooth decay.

Further Suggestions
Clean your teeth properly by brushing it in a slow, circular motion. It will remove all unnecessary food particles and plaque on the surface of the teeth.

Brushing the gums will stimulate blood circulation and makes it all the more healthier.
