Typhoid Fever
Typhoid also known as typhus, enteric fever, or bilious feveris is characterized by infection from the bacteria called Salmonella typhi. Although this kind of illness is common worldwide, it is rare in developed or industrialized countries.
Symptoms
symptoms usually include:
- High fever
- Headache
- Abdominal pain
- Diarrhea
- Weakness
Causes
Samonella typhi Infection that can acquire from improperly prepared food, contaminated water, or by contact with a carrier person.
paratyphoid fever, causes similar problems, but in a milder form.
Treatment
Water:
Drink plenty of water to avoid dehydration.
ORS Solution (Oral Rehydration Salt):
OTC Drug; Follow the instruction on label help to replenish the bodies’ ions
Lemon Grass:
Boil in water for 20 minutes; drink at least two to three cups a day
Prevention
Wash hands often
Avoid improperly prepared food and drinks.
Be vaccinated against typhoid fever.
